Job description 

Copenhagen Global A/S is a Danish company with an international reach, built on agility, a flat structure and hands-on execution. We are looking for a Senior Hydrographic Surveyor to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of survey projects for Copenhagen Global A/S. This role involves the mobilisation and calibration of USVs and AUVs, the acquisition and quality control of captured hydrographic data, processing of data and setup of automatic workflows. You will work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure that all equipment functions efficiently and meets quality standards. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work with electronics, has a solid understanding of electronic theory and possesses excellent troubleshooting skills.

Key responsibilities 

  • Set-up of survey work at project start-up: installation of equipment (MBES, sonar equipment, positioning system equipment, corrections on both USVs an AUVs).
  • Survey Operations: Execute survey operations to meet internal and customer expectations. 
  • Data Processing: Process hydrographic survey data, create charts, and write reports describing the operation and results. 
  • Maintenance and calibration of the various systems. 
  • Point of contact for positioning systems on board the vessels.
  • Mobilisation and calibration of the survey vessels.  
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain measuring instruments and survey equipment.  
  • Administrative Duties: Handle administrative requirements at the project level. 
  • Maintain survey records and records of repairs, test results and inventory. 
  • Collaborate with engineers to modify and improve existing systems. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed. 
  • Follow health, safety and environmental standards in all activities.

Qualifications, skills and experience required 

  • At least 5+ years of experience in a similar role. 
  • Experience with PDS, CARIS onboard, or other recognised survey packages.
  • In possession of a valid driver’s license (B, preferably incl. BE).
  • Pro-active and flexible mindset.
  • Professional, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • In possession of an EU residency/work permit. 
  • Practical, hands-on approach and ability to work both independently and in teams. 
  • Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.

Employment is conditional upon obtaining security clearance. 

Our data acquisition platforms are remote so the position is shore-based.
